The linear code still plays a dominant role even in a world in which 2D codes are on the rise.
Long barcodes are still used in many areas of application. Traditional codes can be found, for example, on utility bills, in document processing and also in the packaging sector. These long codes are a real challenge for real area imagers due to their shorter field of view and shallower depth of field.

The extra wide field of view of the QuickScan QM2131 imager and its particularly long scanning line simplify the capture of long barcodes from a short distance. Reading is quick and easy for the user thanks to the sharp and clearly visible scan line. In addition, the improved depth of field ensures that codes can be captured from an intuitive distance. Radio models

With Datalogic's STAR 2.0 Cordless System for narrowband communication in the 433 MHz band, the QM2131 linear imager offers secure radio communication without disrupting existing Wi-Fi infrastructure or being affected by obstacles such as concrete walls or metal shelves.
The strong and innovative Li-ion battery enables the battery and scanner contacts to be replaced at the same time, thus ensuring that the most important parts of a mobile product are regularly refreshed.
So that the scanner can also be used without a charging station, it is located on the lower housing a MicroUSB port that allows both the battery and the host configuration to be charged.
