Not all monitors are the same

Whether in an open-plan office, working from home or on the move, the monitor is the central working tool for many employees. But what characteristics make a good business monitor? What size makes sense, what features are really important?

We can help you find the right monitors for your business team - tailored to your needs, economical and future-proof.

Which display size is recommended for which application?

The right display size depends heavily on the intended use. In the office, 24 to 27 inches are standard today. For productive multitasking or graphics-intensive applications, larger models with 32 inches or more make sense - especially in combination with a high resolution.

Those who travel a lot or do hybrid work will benefit from a smaller second monitor with 14 to 16 inches. These are lightweight and ideal for mobile working thanks to the often integrated stand.

Overview of common display sizes

  • 24 inch: Affordable all-rounder for simple office tasks
  • 27 inch: The new standard for comfortable working
  • 32+ inch: For professional users with multitasking, graphics & development
  • 14-16 inch: For hybrid working and mobility

Which features are crucial when buying a business monitor?

There is more to buying a business monitor than just the display size. You should keep the following points in mind to find the right solution for your workplace.

1 Resolution
A higher-resolution display offers more sharpness and space for content. Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) is sufficient for most office applications. If you work with many windows in parallel or perform graphically demanding tasks, you should opt for WQHD (2560×1440) or 4K (3840×2160).
2 Brightness
High screen brightness is particularly important in bright offices or when working near windows. Values from 250 cd/m² are considered suitable for everyday use, from 300-350 cd/m² the image is pleasantly legible even in backlighting.
3 Ports
Modern monitors ideally have USB-C - this allows the notebook, power, image and data to be connected via just one cable. HDMI and DisplayPort are also common. Look out for additional USB ports on the monitor for peripheral devices.
4 Ergonomics
Height adjustability, tilt angle, pivot function (turning into portrait format) - all of these increase comfort and prevent tension. A monitor with good ergonomics is particularly worthwhile for intensive screen work.
5 Integrated hardware features
Especially in home office or hybrid settings, integrated components save space and reduce cable clutter. Some business models even offer integrated - retractable if required - cameras and AI-supported noise suppression.
Keep an eye on these aspects
Your business is looking great.

Intelligent hot desking

Monitors with an integrated USB-C docking station are suitable for work environments with hot desking. Employees can connect their notebook via a single cable and use it to obtain power, image signal, data and network connections and additional peripheral devices.

Enable eye-friendly working

Technologies such as blue light filters are particularly valuable when working at a screen all day. They relieve strain on the eyes and help to prevent fatigue and protect the health of your employees.

Think beyond IT hardware

In addition to compatible monitor mounts, office equipment such as height-adjustable desks can also improve ergonomic teamwork. Think beyond IT products when equipping your workstations. Your employees will appreciate their new working environment.

Suitable monitors for every working environment
Business monitors are as individual as the tasks they support. Whether at home, at the office or for specialized applications – those who pay attention to the right features create optimal conditions for concentrated and efficient work. It's not just the screen size that counts, but the interplay of resolution, ergonomics, connectivity and additional functions. When everything fits, the technology fades into the background – and the focus remains on the people, projects and ideas that really count.
