Printers with dynamic security feature Some HP printers are designed to work only with cartridges that have new or reused HP chips or electronic circuits. These printers use dynamic security measures to block cartridges that have a non-HP chip or non-HP electronic circuit. Regular firmware updates keep these measures effective and block cartridges that previously worked. Reused HP chips and HP electronic circuits enable the use of reused, remanufactured and refilled cartridges. This is an HP+ enabled printer. To enjoy the benefits, select HP+ during product setup. HP+ requires an HP account, an uninterrupted Internet connection, and the use of only original HP cartridges for the life of the printer.
